About How Chessie the Sea Serpent Swam into the Heart of the Chesapeake:  Dr. Eric Cheezum lectures on “Chessie,” the Chesapeake Bay’s very own “sea monster” that became a local celebrity in the 1980s. Cheezum’s research investigates not only the origins of the Chessie legend, but also the many ways that the Chesapeake Bay’s culture has helped the stories to take hold.

One of the premiere lecture series in Hampton Roads, The Mariners' Museum Lecture Series offers Museum members and Hampton Roads residents dynamic and memorable stories of mankind's relationship with the sea.

FREE Lecture • Reserved seating for Members For more information, please visit www.marinersmuseum.org/Lectures or call (757)591-7715
