Veterans Day Wave Church Virginia Beach

A Veterans Day service honoring our Military.

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA (Nov. 2017) – On November 12th at 6 pm, Wave Church will hold a special service which will honor our Service members. Under the vision of Pastors Steve and Sharon Kelly, Wave Church has always sought to value and honor our military and the sacrifices they and their families make every day.

Wave Church has a history of honoring the military. In the past, they have partnered with the Missing in America Project to give an honorable burial to several veterans whose remains were unclaimed. And last year, they partnered with CBN to gift a veteran's wife with medical equipment the family was unable to afford.

Admiral Vern Clark is the special guest speaker for this service. Admiral Clark completed a distinguished 37-year Navy career in 2005. His Navy experience spans his early days in destroyers, command of a Patrol Gunboat as a Lieutenant and concluding in the halls of the Pentagon as the Chief of Naval Operations and a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. In between, his career is distinguished by serving over 50% of his career in command which included three ships, two destroyer squadrons, the Atlantic Fleet’s Anti-Submarine Warfare Training Center, a Carrier Battle Group, the Second Fleet, NATO’s Striking Fleet, and the U.S. Atlantic Fleet.

Admiral Clark received numerous military decorations including four awards of the Defense Distinguished Service Medal, three Navy Distinguished Service Medals, three awards of the Legion of Merit, Distinguished Service Medals from Army, Air Force, Coast Guard, and international awards received from Germany, Italy, France, South Korea, Japan, Portugal, Singapore, and the Netherlands and various other campaign and service awards. In retirement he has been honored with the Eisenhower Award from BENS, the Business Executives for National Security, the Distinguished Sea Service Award from the Naval Order of the United States, and the Distinguished Service Medal of the Military Order of the World Wars.

The Veteran’s Day service will take the time to thank those individuals and their family members. Active duty military members are encouraged to come dressed in their uniforms. Service members and their families are invited to a reception following the service.

About Wave Church.

A growing church that is in love with God, life, and people; changing their world one life at a time. Our Church, because of it's impact and influence on the lives of people in the Hampton Roads community, the nation and the world, will become an example of discipleship, leadership, and relationship. We will multiply our influence in two ways: Firstly, we will raise up a generation of leaders in our church that will by living to their fullest potential, influence their world for Christ. Secondly, we will network with churches, pastors and leaders of like-minded spirit, as we mentor and empower them to change their communities and sphere of influence for the Kingdom of God.
