Our family enjoyed a week-long vacation in Banner Elk, North Carolina just a six hour drive from the Hampton Roads, Virginia area. We love to escape the Virginia heat every summerandvisit the mountains. The Banner Elk area sits at around 3,700 feet where the average July temperature hovers around 75 degrees. It is breathtaking!
