Enjoy three days of native and exotic reptiles. With visiting exhibitors, live animal programs, Reptile Story Time and children's crafts and activities throughout the weekend.

Join a vast number of herpetology experts at the Virginia Living Museum's most popular 3-day event! Exhibitors include VIIPER, Virginia Dept. of Game and Inland Fisheries, the Virginia Herpetological Society,  Wildlife Response, Inc., the Virginia Aquarium Stranding Response Team, Virginia Master Naturalists and Sandy Bottom Nature Park.  Also on hand will be a selection of reptiles from Clyde Peeling's Reptiland.

Get tips on choosing a reptile pet or learn how to distinguish frog calls from one of expert guest speakers.

Turtle Cove will be filled with a variety of tortoise and turtles large and small.

Dwarf Crocodile

On display will be the large Dwarf Crocodile, Giant Day Geckos, Waxy Monkey Tree Frogs, a Western Diamondback Rattlesnake, Cane Toad and so much more!   See schedule and more detail here.

Test your reptile knowledge with a game-show style planetarium presentation all about our scaly friends.  We'll also discover where reptiles can be found in the night skies of Earth in "A Sky Full of Scales" shown in the Abbitt Planetarium. Members pay $2 or use vouchers, non-members $4 plus Museum admission.

 

 

Hours are Saturday and Monday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. All activities and exhibits are included in Museum admission, except the planetarium programs which are additional.
