At the Museum, it's Throwback Thursday as we celebrate the World War II era. In Huber Court, an Andrews Sisters-type musical act, America's Sweethearts, will be harmonizing in classic '40s style. Come dressed in your best swingtime-era outfit and be ready to dance.
We'll also offer tours of the exhibitions behind the theme, Thomas Hart Benton and the Navy at 6 p.m., and Glen McClure: The Shipyard Workers of Hampton Roads at 7 p.m.
At the Glass Studio, two internationally traveled artists will blend hot glass, music, and digital technology in a performance called Sending. Visual artist Alli Hoag and performance artist Tinna Thorsteinsdottir are the individuals behind the artistic collective known as Bylta.
This month’s Third Thursday is free for Museum Members, and all military, shipyard employees, and students with valid ID. It's $5 for all others. There's a cash bar in both venues.
Third Thursday is generously sponsored by Virginia Natural Gas/AGL Resources.
