Experience a close encounter of the reptile kind at the Virginia Living Museum.
See a wide variety of native and exotic reptiles on display and in live animal programs. Guest exhibitors include Virginia Herpetological Society, Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center Stranding Team, Sandy Bottom Nature Park, Virginia Master Naturalist Program, Virginia Master Naturalist- Peninsula Chapter, and Reptile Education of Virginia -REV who will be feature the African Spurred Tortoise, Amazon Tree Boa, Blood Python, Brazilian Rainbow Boa, Burmese Python, Gargoyle Gecko, Vietnamese Centipede and New Caledonian Giant Gecko and so much more!
Also, learn about the museum’s citizen science projects such as FrogWatch and Turtle Census. See the differences between venomous and nonvenomous reptiles. Plus, be sure to purchase a Reptile Skin Bookmark or “Snake Painting” by our resident snake, both will be on sale to benefit our animals.
Plus, Saturday only, back by popular demand… the biggest lizard king of all the Walking T-Rex – Dino on the Loose will appear on the Dinosaur Discovery Trail Saturday, March 17 at 1pm for a 15 minute parade.
