This is a very difficult time in the world with COVID-19. The United States is basically on lock down with social distancing and stay at home orders. Much has closed around the country however one particular place has remained open for many--golf courses. It's been rather amazing to see golf courses thriving. I have been incredibly impressed with our local courses and their ability to keep the courses safe for people to allow them to enjoy the game. I have noticed that people are either picking up the game or rekindling their love for the game with it being a great escape and form of exercise during this time.
If you are an avid golfer or one that is picking the game back up, we thought it'd be a great time to share some of the wonderful military discount available for golf enthusiasts. Realize that some won't apply at the moment such as vacations to golf resorts but many are available to enjoy.

During PGA TOUR events, Birdies for the Brave presents service dogs that will be donated to veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), traumatic brain injury (TBI) and physical disabilities through its relationship with the non-profit K9s for Warriors.
Military Caddie Program
The Birdies for the Brave Military Caddie Program provides active duty military members from all five branches of our U.S. Armed Forces with the opportunity to caddie for PGA TOUR players for one hole during the Pro-Am of a PGA TOUR tournament.
Wounded Veteran Home Donations
In collaboration with Military Warriors Support Foundation, Birdies for the Brave presents 100% mortgage-free homes to wounded veterans and their families during PGA TOUR events.
Operation Shower
Birdies for the Brave teams up with the non-profit Operation Shower to host group baby showers for 30-40 military moms-to-be whose spouses are deployed or seriously injured. Each uniquely-themed shower features lunch, raffles, the presentation of Operation Shower’s signature Shower In A Box filled with gifts, and an opportunity for the military moms to connect with and support each other.
Veteran Career Expos
Working with veteran service organizations and local businesses, Birdies for the Brave hosts career expos in conjunction with PGA TOUR events where veterans can learn about career opportunities in the local community and participate in career development workshops.
Adopt-A-Warrior
In collaboration with the PGA TOUR’s TPC Network, Birdies for the Brave donates honorary TPC club memberships to local wounded veterans to aid in the rehabilitation process and express appreciation for their service and sacrifice. Honorary TPC memberships are presented during PGA TOUR events.
