October 3, 10, 17, and 24 from 11 AM – 2 PM Learn how to be a pirate as Blackbeard’s Crew invades The Mariners’ Museum the first four Saturdays in October. Mariners’ Museum marks 152 nd anniversary of Ironclad Battle NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – One hundred and fifty-two years ago, on March 8 and 9, 1862 , the great naval conflict of The American Civil War raged in the body of water known as Hampton Roads.
