Welcome families! Kellam High School has a dedicated staff that is both highly qualified and highly committed to the success of our students. Our students are given ample opportunities, both academically and socially, to expand their horizons and challenge themselves - in and out of the classroom. We are fortunate to have a school community that is not only supportive of Kellam, but also actively involved in the educational process. Kellam has been a recipient of the National Gold Council of Excellence Award for three consecutive years and boasts a 95.23 percent on time graduation rate. All throughout their education but especially here in high school, we prepare students for success after they leave our classrooms – whether their future is attending college, joining the workforce or serving the nation with our military. As Knights, we are a proud community of learners and together we work hard to ensure all students meet their full potential. Virginia Beach City Public Schools (VBCPS) is proud to serve the many military families who work and live in our community. Approximately 25 percent of the school division’s student population is comprised of active-duty, military-dependent youth, and VBCPS is committed to providing support, resources and enriching programs to enhance their educational experiences and support their families. VBCPS is fortunate to partner with the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA), which has awarded the school division multiple grants to support social, emotional, STEM and special education initiatives. From parental deployments to the academic and social challenges that come with changing schools, VBCPS strives to ensure families have the best resources possible to assist students in reaching their full potential.
