Welcome to Oceanair Elementary, “Home of the Dolphins!” Oceanair is a PK - 5th grade elementary school, located in a diverse urban environment in Norfolk, Virginia. We are a short walk to the Chesapeake Bay and minutes from the Atlantic Ocean. Our school first opened in 1916, with C. Fred Kelley as the first Principal. The current building was built in 1955 to accommodate the growing student population. Oceanair Elementary administrators and faculty enable every student to reach their highest potential by establishing a curriculum standard for education, and by providing extra-curricular programs that develop students' mental, physical and social skills. We invite and encourage parents and community partners to volunteer at our school, browse our website, and to contact us at your convenience.
